Embark Studios is planning to increase the difficulty of its PvE content in Arc Raiders as experienced players find existing enemies less challenging, the developer said in a recent interview.

Since its release in October 2025, Arc Raiders has seen its player base grow more adept, reducing the threat posed by standard robot enemies. Design Lead Virgil Watkins told GamesRadar that Embark intends to introduce new varieties of regular Arcs equipped with different weapons and attack patterns, alongside exploring the possibility of much larger enemies.

Watkins said observant players may have already noticed hints of what is to come, pointing to “massive, mountain-sized Arcs looming in the background” of some environments. He added that several new maps are also planned for release in 2026 as part of ongoing content updates.

For now, these giant Arcs remain visual elements rather than active threats. Watkins noted that enemies of that scale present technical challenges, explaining that such foes would currently “blow up the server,” but he said the studio hopes to make them playable if those issues can be resolved.

The potential additions could alter Arc Raiders’ endgame, which currently focuses on repeatedly farming bosses to craft gear effective against the same encounters. Players on Reddit have largely welcomed the prospect of larger and more complex enemies, viewing them as a way to add variety and renewed purpose to late-game progression.
