Everything you should know about specifications Honor X30 and Play 30 Plus

Honor launched two of its newest smartphones for the Chinese market, namely and Play 30 Plus. Both are mid-range smartphones that support 5G networks.

For the Honor X30 itself, this phone is a complementary model to the two Honor X30-series models that Honor released last October, namely the Honor X30i and Honor X30 Max. Meanwhile, the is a new phone from the Honor Play-series line.

Honor X30 5G

Besides 5G support, one of the main selling points of this phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 System-on-Chip. The chipset was actually introduced by Qualcomm last October. Snapdragon 695 relies on the Kryo 660 CPU and Adreno 619 GPU.

The Snapdragon 695 chipset is built with 6nm fabrication so that it is claimed to be more efficient than its predecessor. Snapdragon 695 CPU performance is boosted by 15 percent and GPU performance is boosted by 30 percent.

This chipset also supports mmWave 5G spectrum. Snapdragon 695 is also equipped with the Qualcomm AI Engine which is processed by the Hexagon Vector Extensions processor.

The Honor X30 screen features a 6.8-inch LCD panel with Full HD Plus resolution (1,080 x 2,388 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

At the top center of the screen there is a punch hole for the 16 MP selfie camera.

On the back, there is a circular camera module that is large enough to house three rear cameras, namely a 48 MP main camera, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor camera.

In China, the Honor X30 comes in a choice of varying RAM capacities, from 6 GB to 12 GB, as well as 128 GB or 256 GB of media storage. This smartphone is also equipped with the Extended RAM feature to add 2 GB of RAM capacity.

This 5G phone runs the Android 11 operating system and uses the Magic UI 5.0 interface system.

The Honor X30 has a 4,800 mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging. The fast charging feature allows the phone battery to be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

Other features that are brought include 5G network support, side-mounted fingerprint (integrated with the power button), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

In China, the phone will be available in black, silver, gold and blue colors starting December 24, 2021.

For the price, the Honor X30 is sold from 1,499 Yuan for the 6/128 GB variant, up to the most expensive 2,299 for the highest 12/256 GB variant.

Honor Play 30 Plus 5G

Honor Play 30 Plus 5G has a selfie camera with 5 MP resolution. From the aspect of the screen, Honor Play 30 Plus is equipped with a 6.7-inch LCD panel with HD Plus resolution (1,600 x7 20 pixels), 90 Hz refresh rate, and 20 aspect ratio: 9.

There are also two rear cameras, namely a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor camera embedded in an oval-shaped module on the back of the phone.

The Honor Play 30 Plus is powered by the Dimensity 700 chipset from MediaTek. The chipset is paired with RAM capacities from 4 GB to 8 GB, as well as 128 GB of media storage. This phone runs the Android 11 operating system and is covered by the Magic UI 5.0 interface.

The Honor Play 30 Plus is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.

Other features that this phone brings include support for 5G connectivity, side-mounted fingerprint, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, as compiled from Gadgets NDTV.

In China, this 5G phone will go on sale on December 31, 2021 at the following prices:

4/128GB: 1,099 Yuan
6/128GB: 1,299 Yuan
8/128GB: 1,499 Yuan
