Garmin has begun distributing a new beta update for two of its smartwatches, following the earlier release of a stable build last month. The company has made Beta Software Version 15.31 available to the Venu X1 and Vivoactive 6 through its Beta Program, signaling continued refinement ahead of the next public software release.
The update follows Software Version 15.16, which also rolled out to the Venu 4 and replaced Version 14.12 with numerous corrections after what Garmin described as an extensive testing period. According to the company, the latest beta focuses on stability improvements rather than new features. One statement from the update notes that it contains “various bug fixes and other improvements.”

Beta 15.31 is not delivered automatically and requires manual installation. Users must navigate through Main Menu → Settings → System → Software Update → Check for Updates to start the download and installation. Only participants enrolled in Garmin’s Beta Program will be able to access the new build.
Garmin has not revealed how Beta 15.31 specifically improves on earlier versions, nor has it confirmed when a corresponding stable release will be issued. The company has only indicated that the current beta prepares the smartwatch lineup for future updates, without offering a timeline for wider distribution.

With limited information provided, attention has shifted to Garmin’s user forums, where additional feedback and early impressions from testers are expected to appear. The company has not commented on whether broader beta availability or feature additions are planned later in the cycle.
