Garmin has begun distributing a new beta software update for several of its older high-end smartwatches, as the company continues preparing a larger stable release.
The update, known as Beta Version 23.16, is now rolling out globally through Garmin’s Beta Program to models including the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Fenix 7, Marq Gen 2 and Quatix 7. The affected devices last received a stable update in June with System Software 22.06.
According to Garmin, the latest beta version “addresses two issues primarily that could cause CT10 sensor pairing to fail and Hunt activity navigation to fail.” The release marks the fourth build in the v23.xx cycle, following earlier iterations.
The company has issued several software updates in recent weeks. Earlier in August, Garmin unveiled its Feature Update 2025, which included stable releases for newer watches such as the Fenix 8, Forerunner 970, Instinct 2 and Instinct 3, as well as performance improvements for cycling computers like the Edge 1050.
Garmin has not confirmed when it will finalize development of the v23.xx software line. However, the shift from v23.08 to v23.16 indicates progress toward a wider stable release.
