Garmin appears set to introduce the Fenix 8 Pro sooner than expected after references to the device were spotted on its U.S. website. The listings suggest the smartwatch will be offered with both microLED and AMOLED display options, alongside satellite-enabled connectivity.
The Fenix 8 and Fenix E models were released in August 2024, but speculation about a Pro variant has circulated for months. References to the Fenix 8 Pro were seen in Garmin’s online coverage map menus, where two product IDs appeared, though the pages are not yet publicly accessible.
According to images retrieved by Reddit users, Garmin described the device as the company’s “brightest smartwatch ever built,” pointing to the inclusion of microLED technology. Garmin signed a display supply contract with Vuzix last year, adding weight to the claims.
Another listing indicated an alternative version with “SOS connectivity,” likely tied to an LTE modem integrated with Garmin’s inReach service. One Redditor said the subscription for the service is expected to cost €9.99 per month.
The discovery prompted speculation that Garmin may formally unveil the Fenix 8 Pro as early as September 3, although the company has not yet issued an announcement.
