A new online co-operative multiplayer mode will be added to Ghost of Yotei next month, as developer Sucker Punch Productions rolls out patch 1.5, bringing the “Legends” experience to all owners of the game at no additional cost.
According to the studio, “Legends is our online co-op multiplayer mode where you’ll team up with friends to challenge monstrous, supernatural versions of the Yotei Six.” The update is scheduled to arrive ahead of March 10 and will launch with three mission types: Survival, Story and a Raid mode planned for April.

In Survival mode, up to four players can defend territory across four maps while facing waves of increasingly difficult enemies. Players can activate Blessings that grant combat advantages when controlling locations, though losing control triggers Curses that weaken the team. Story mode pairs two players across 12 missions, unlocking larger four-player Incursions that culminate in boss fights against supernatural foes.
The Raid mode, set for release in April, will challenge teams to confront additional members of the Yotei Six, including the Dragon and Lord Saito. Players will be able to choose from four classes — Samurai, Archer, Mercenary and Shinobi — each with distinct weapons and abilities, while still retaining access to core combat tools such as katanas and ranged weapons.

The studio said the return of Legends follows strong fan engagement with the multiplayer format in earlier titles. Additional features include unlockable Legendary gear, a practice lobby with mini-games and the return of Photo Mode. “We’re so excited to see the mode return for Ghost of Yotei,” the company said in the announcement, adding that further updates will be shared ahead of launch.
