Google is extending its experimental AI development platform, Opal, to new markets as part of a broader international rollout. Initially introduced in the United States two months ago through Google Labs, the platform allows users to create AI-driven mini-apps using natural language instructions without writing code.
The expansion includes 15 additional countries, among them India, Japan, Indonesia, Brazil, and Canada, reflecting Google’s intent to make AI creation tools accessible to a wider range of users globally. The decision follows what the company described as unexpectedly high engagement and innovation from early adopters, who used the platform for both creative and practical applications.
Alongside the rollout, Google announced several technical upgrades to improve reliability and performance. A newly integrated advanced debugging feature enables users to run workflows step-by-step, identify issues in real time, and refine app logic more efficiently.
Performance improvements have also been introduced to make app creation significantly faster. The platform now supports parallel execution for complex, multi-step workflows, reducing wait times and enhancing responsiveness.
With these updates, Google aims to strengthen Opal’s role as a versatile AI builder for both individual creators and businesses. The platform is designed to assist users in automating workflows, optimizing marketing operations, and developing AI-based tools with minimal technical barriers.
