Lately, many technology brands have launched smart glasses. Starting from Facebook, Xiaomi, and also OPPO, are busy announcing smart glasses products. And Huawei, in addition to launching the P50 Pocket folding screen smartphone, at the same time also re-launched the latest smart glasses, namely Huawei Smart Glasses.

Huawei Smart Glasses are more intended for communication and fitness tracker purposes. where these smart glasses are equipped with a built-in speaker measuring 128mm, and also a microphone. These smart glasses run using the HarmonyOS operating system, which is integrated with Huawei’s smart assistant, Celia.

With these smart glasses, users can receive and make phone calls, listen to audio, or take notes. In addition, by being integrated into smartphone devices, users can track fitness activities such as using a smartband or smart earbuds. This device also has a feature to track the user’s eye health.

For battery life, this device is claimed to last for about 16 hours of use, or 4.5 hours for voice calls, and 6 hours for playing audio.

Two models are offered, namely the Sunglasses model and Prescription lenses. The device is offered at a starting price of CNY 1699.

Huawei Smart Glasses are certainly not the first smart glasses launched by Huawei. Previously, Huawei had launched several smart glasses products with the Gentle Monster brand. And the features offered are also limited to communication, even without the fitness tracking feature.

So far, Huawei has not embedded more advanced functions such as VR/AR, although many other brands have developed smart glasses products with these advanced features. It’s possible that Huawei hasn’t seen a high need for these features from consumers.
