    Honor Magic V Confirmed To Be The First Folding Smartphone With Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

    Some time ago, we reported that Honor had given a teaser for one of its newest devices, namely the Honor Magic V. This device itself is a folding smartphone that was first produced by Honor.

    From the same news, there is confirmation that this folding smartphone will also be the first folding smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This has been re-confirmed with the latest leaks coming from China.

    This confirmation comes from a leaked presentation that aired on the Weibo site. Unfortunately, although it has been confirmed that this device will be the first folding smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, there is no more detailed information regarding this. Other leaks that have been revealed regarding the Honor Magic V include a 6.5-inch main screen with an 8-inch second screen.

    The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset which has been announced since early December 2021 itself will have various features and very significant improvements, especially in terms of connectivity which in addition to supporting 5G with downstream capabilities up to 10 Gbps, also offers Wi-Fi 6E which has speeds up to 3.6. Gbps.

    In addition, the chipset also has camera support with Snapdragon Sight Technology with the first 18-bit ISP for smartphones. Offering speeds of up to 3.2 Gigapixel per second, this ISP has much higher capabilities than the previous generation. It even lets the smartphone capture 8K HDR video in HDR10+ format. Interestingly, for the gaming aspect, the latest Adreno GPU supported by the latest generation Snapdragon Elite Gaming enables high visual quality in games, with HDR.

    Of course, for the future, it is not impossible if folding smartphone devices from other brands will also carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset as well. Folding smartphones or flip smartphones are indeed classified as premium and may be difficult for everyone to own at this time, but the potential and technology they carry will provide so many possibilities for using smartphones with this unique design. Who knows, in the future, this technology will be used more and more and the selling price will be more affordable for the majority of people.
