Huawei has launched the MatePad Air 12 (2025), a new tablet now available for pre-order in China starting at the equivalent of $420. The device is offered in four colors with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage, alongside a “Soft Light Edition” said to provide a better visual experience.

A 10,100 mAh battery powers the device, supporting 66-watt fast charging through USB-C, which also allows data transfer at USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds. The MatePad Air 12 includes six speakers and two microphones for improved audio performance.
Accessories such as a detachable keyboard and stylus are available, with Huawei promoting the device as suitable for productivity and creative tasks. The company also points to integrated AI features, though details remain limited.
