Huawei has launched the MatePad Air 12 (2025), a new tablet now available for pre-order in China starting at the equivalent of $420. The device is offered in four colors with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage, alongside a “Soft Light Edition” said to provide a better visual experience.

The tablet features a 12-inch LCD display with a 2800 x 1840 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Huawei highlights its slim profile, measuring just 0.23 inches at its thinnest point and weighing around 19.6 ounces.

A 10,100 mAh battery powers the device, supporting 66-watt fast charging through USB-C, which also allows data transfer at USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds. The MatePad Air 12 includes six speakers and two microphones for improved audio performance.

Accessories such as a detachable keyboard and stylus are available, with Huawei promoting the device as suitable for productivity and creative tasks. The company also points to integrated AI features, though details remain limited.

The model is currently limited to the Chinese market, with no confirmation on availability in the United States or Europe.
