PlayStation 5 players hoping to experience Starfield may have to wait longer than expected, as gaming insider NateTheHate has indicated that the title’s release on Sony’s console will not occur until 2026.
Originally launched over two years ago for Xbox Series X/S and PC, Bethesda’s space exploration role-playing game has continued to receive major updates and expansions. A PS5 version has been the subject of ongoing speculation, particularly after previous reports hinted at a late-2025 release window.
Responding to a user inquiry on X, NateTheHate said, “Believe the announcement will be in 2026 unless plans change,” implying that development or release scheduling may have been pushed back. The insider had earlier suggested that Starfield could also appear on Nintendo’s next-generation Switch 2 console in 2026.
Bethesda has not commented on the rumor, and no official confirmation has been provided regarding the PS5 port. Analysts note that while NateTheHate is often regarded as a reliable source within the gaming community, such claims should be treated cautiously until the studio makes an official statement.
If accurate, the timeline means PS5 players will need to wait at least another year to access Starfield, one of Bethesda’s most ambitious projects. The game’s potential arrival in 2026 would mark its debut on all major console platforms.
