Motorola has suggested it will enter the book-style foldable smartphone segment next year, offering its clearest hint yet that a formal announcement may be approaching.
The company is expected to unveil the Edge 70 Ultra soon as a premium addition to the Edge lineup, though the name has not been publicly confirmed. While anticipation builds for what is likely Motorola’s first handset powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, the company has begun teasing another product entirely.
According to a report by Android Headlines, Motorola’s corporate holiday gifts included a note that appears to signal the arrival of a new foldable. The message read: “We’re getting ready to unfold new perspectives at Lenovo Tech World. January 6, 2026.” The publication described the items as evidence of “a possibility” that Motorola is preparing a book-style model rather than another Razr clamshell.
The indication suggests Motorola may soon join rivals such as Samsung, with its Galaxy Z Fold series, and Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold, in the larger foldable category. The company is still expected to release its Razr 70 series in the middle of next year.
