Murena has introduced a new version of the Murena Volla tablet that emphasizes user privacy by excluding Google services and data-collecting cloud integrations.
The tablet retains the same hardware design as last year’s Volla tablet but runs /e/OS, a modified version of Android 14, instead of Volla OS or Ubuntu Touch. The operating system is designed to limit the amount of user data transmitted to external servers. According to the manufacturer, the platform does not collect user data.

Under /e/OS, Google services have been removed from the system. Most pre-installed applications are open source, and users can download additional software through the /e/OS App Directory, which assigns privacy ratings to apps on a scale from 0 to 10. The directory also allows installation of many mainstream Android applications.
Despite its privacy-focused software, the tablet features mid-range hardware specifications at a premium price point. The device is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G99 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It comes with a 12.6-inch IPS display offering a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and houses a 10,000mAh battery.

Additional features include a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The tablet does not include a fingerprint sensor but supports LTE connectivity via a nano SIM slot.
The Murena Volla tablet is available through the company’s online store for $798. A compatible stylus is sold separately for $59. Buyers should note that a charger and cable are not included in the retail package.
