Nothing Technology has released a software update for its flagship Nothing Phone (3) that brings a suite of camera upgrades aimed at enhancing speed, clarity and creative flexibility.
The Nothing OS V3.5-250801-1847 release expands the handset’s “AI Super Res Zoom” to 30x hybrid magnification, promising sharper results between 20x and 30x zoom levels. Autofocus performance has been refined for more consistent results, while a faster shutter response is expected to make it easier to capture fast-moving subjects.
Color reproduction has also been addressed, with a revised white balance algorithm designed to produce more natural tones. “With OS 3.5, we’ve pushed the Phone (3)’s imaging system to be faster, smarter and more accurate, giving users more confidence in every shot,” the company said in a statement.
The update introduces a “Glyph Mirror” option, which generates a stylized, pixelated version of an image when using the rear dot-matrix display as a viewfinder, alongside the standard photo. Nothing says the mode blends its signature design language with creative photography.
Beyond imaging, the update fixes playback issues with 4K video, enables 120 Hz refresh for Snapchat, improves third-party charger compatibility and allows WhatsApp to open PDF files.
The Nothing Phone (3) features four 50-megapixel cameras, including a main f/1.7 lens with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, an ultra-wide lens, a periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a high-resolution front camera. The update is rolling out globally this week.
