Polar has announced two GPS smartwatches specifically for amateur and professional runners. The two wearable devices from this Finnish company are the Polar Pacer and the Polar Pacer Pro. Both the Pacer and Pacer Pro are claimed to be designed to help runners improve their everyday performance.
Polar designed the Pacer and Pacer Pro smartwatches with significant improvements over their predecessors. Both of these products have 5 MB RAM which promises better processor performance and overall user experience. The problem of lag issues on previous Polar smartwatches has been resolved on this new model.
Reporting from Gizmochina (14/4), Polar’s Precision Prime heart rate sensor will also be present in these two smartwatch models. The minimalist design, battery life, and push notification look all look similar on the two wearables.
The batteries of both devices offer up to 7 days of activity on a single charge. However, the weight, strap, and color accents differ between the Pacer and Pacer Pro.
The Polar Pacer is designed for beginner runners at various skill levels. It offers a new walking test that will estimate the user’s aerobic fitness after 15 minutes of walking. The Polar Pacer Pro, on the other hand, comes with a more strenuous training mode and runs performance tests. On the Pro model, its navigation features and barometer measure the runner’s strength via the wrist.
The Polar Pacer and Pacer Pro start shipping around May 2022. The Polar Pacer costs $200. While the price of the Polar Pacer Pro is USD300.
