Rad Power Bikes has introduced the RadWagon 5, the latest generation of its electric cargo bike, as the company navigates ongoing questions about its future operations.
The RadWagon 5 features an aluminum frame designed to carry a maximum payload of up to 375 pounds (170 kg) and includes a full suspension setup intended to improve comfort when hauling cargo or passengers. The bike is equipped with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and an RST Guide suspension fork with 45 mm of travel, which the company says is aimed at delivering a smoother ride on uneven roads.

Power comes from a 750-watt rear hub motor producing up to 90 Nm of torque, allowing the cargo bike to reach a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h). Energy is supplied by a 720 watt-hour Samsung battery, which Rad Power Bikes says can deliver a maximum range of up to 60 miles (96.5 km) on a single charge. The battery is UL-certified and includes what the company describes as “safe-shield technology designed to prevent accidents related to overheating.”
The seven-speed e-bike also includes an LCD display showing ride data such as speed, battery level, distance and remaining range. Additional features include a 450-lumen front headlight with automatic activation, turn signals, passcode protection and a USB-C port for charging external devices.
