Razer has unveiled Project Ava, a desktop accessory designed to bring an interactive AI presence to Windows computers through a holographic display and animated digital avatars.

The device projects a three-dimensional avatar onto a 5.5-inch holographic screen and is equipped with a speaker, far-field microphones, an HD camera and integrated LED lighting. Users can speak directly to the avatar, which responds with facial expressions and eye movements intended to create a more lifelike interaction.

Razer said Project Ava is built to function as a constant companion across different use cases, from gaming to productivity. As described in the original article, the device is “designed to be a constant companion, available around the clock for interaction during gaming, work, and life.”

At launch, the avatars are expected to run on xAI’s Grok artificial intelligence model, with Razer indicating that support for additional AI systems could be added later. The company plans to offer multiple avatars, each with a distinct personality and visual style.

During gaming sessions, Project Ava can react to achievements, answer questions and offer gameplay strategies. Outside of games, it is positioned as a personal assistant capable of managing reminders, tracking daily tasks and supporting healthier routines. For professional use, Razer says the device can assist with project planning, data analysis and real-time translation.

Razer said customers can reserve Project Ava with a $20 deposit, with purchases planned for the second half of 2026. The company has not yet disclosed final pricing for the device.
