RedMagic has broadened the appeal of its Astra tablet by adding a new colour option for its entry-level configuration. The device, first launched in China as the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro before being rebranded globally, is now available in “Starfrost” alongside the existing “Eclipse” finish.
The Astra, positioned as a compact flagship Android tablet, shares its underlying hardware with other small high-end competitors such as the Redmi K Pad, Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 4 and Huawei MatePad Mini. RedMagic had initially restricted its global launch to fewer memory and colour combinations than in China, a move the company has now partially reversed.
The updated variant offers 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, priced at £439 in the UK, €499 in Europe and $549 in the United States. Higher-end models, including those with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, remain limited to the Eclipse finish.
Core specifications include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 9.06-inch OLED display with 2.4K resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate, and an 8,200 mAh battery supported by 80 W wired and bypass charging.
RedMagic described the expansion as a way to give buyers “greater choice” in design while maintaining the same hardware performance.
