Samsung Electronics has completed its acquisition of FläktGroup, Europe’s largest heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) company, in a move aimed at expanding its footprint in industrial cooling and data center markets.

Through the acquisition, Samsung plans to utilize FläktGroup’s manufacturing and sales operations to advance research and development, reinforce supply chain efficiency, and integrate products and services to generate long-term synergies. FläktGroup and its subsidiaries — Woods Air Movement, SEMCO, and SE-Elektronic — will become part of Samsung Electronics but continue to operate as an independent subsidiary to retain their management structure, personnel, and brand identity.

The acquisition aligns with Samsung’s broader strategy to cultivate its HVAC business as a key growth driver within its Device eXperience Division. The company intends to expand its presence in high-demand sectors such as AI data centers, large commercial facilities, and industrial cooling systems across major markets including Korea, North America, and Europe.

Samsung also aims to integrate FläktGroup’s advanced HVAC control technologies with its SmartThings Pro and b.IoT platforms to develop new smart building and energy efficiency solutions. The acquisition follows Samsung’s earlier joint venture with Lennox, designed to strengthen its position in North America’s HVAC sector.

FläktGroup, with more than a century of experience, operates over 10 production bases and maintains an extensive global sales and service network. Its participation in large-scale industrial projects and collaborations with hyperscale clients is expected to support Samsung’s ambitions in next-generation HVAC and data center solutions.
