Skyrover has introduced the X1, a compact drone equipped with a high-resolution camera and advanced features that position it as a potential competitor to DJI’s mid-range models. Weighing under 250 grams, the device is designed to appeal to both enthusiasts and casual users who value portability and image quality.
The Skyrover X1 has been available in the United States for several weeks, though it has yet to launch in other regions. With a retail price of around $750, it targets the segment of consumers seeking high performance in a lightweight form factor. Early reviews on YouTube and user forums have been largely positive, with many highlighting its video feedback quality and ease of flight.
According to the company’s specifications, the drone features a 1/1.32-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing 4K video at 60 frames per second and 48-megapixel still images. It also incorporates what Skyrover calls “Super AI Night Mode,” designed to enhance clarity in low-light conditions. A company statement described the X1 as being “engineered for stable flight and vivid imaging across a range of environments.”
The sub-250-gram weight class allows the drone to be flown recreationally without additional registration in several countries. Skyrover says the X1 can detect obstacles in multiple directions, improving safety and making it more accessible for beginners. The drone supports optical transmission over distances of up to 15 kilometers, though it requires a connected smartphone for live video feedback since the controller lacks an integrated screen.
Battery endurance is rated at about 32 minutes per charge. The X1 also offers automated flight modes such as subject tracking and object recognition, allowing users to capture footage without manual control throughout the flight. With its combination of compact design, advanced imaging, and intelligent flight features, the Skyrover X1 seeks to establish itself as a capable new entrant in the competitive drone market.
