Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive, an action role-playing game based on the popular anime and webtoon franchise, has entered Steam’s trending charts following its late November 2025 release, attracting players with fast-paced combat, cooperative raids and close ties to the source material.

Developed by Netmarble Neo, the game launched on November 24 for PC via Steam and on Xbox platforms, with early access granted to Deluxe Edition buyers days earlier. It follows the story of Sung Jinwoo, who begins as a low-ranked hunter and progresses toward becoming the Monarch of Shadows, while introducing additional original narrative elements alongside the main storyline.

The title focuses on third-person, combo-driven combat that emphasises dodging, parrying and weapon switching. Players progress through a branching skill system with multiple job paths, unlock special Monarch abilities and craft weapons inspired by the franchise. Cooperative gameplay supports four-player raids, while solo play and online features such as achievements and family sharing are also included.

Player reception on Steam has been largely favourable, with the game currently holding a “Mostly Positive” rating from more than a thousand user reviews. Many players have welcomed the absence of gacha-style mechanics common in other franchise entries, instead highlighting progression tied to combat and exploration, though some have criticised repetitive missions, grind-heavy elements and technical issues.

“This is all about fast, combo-driven combat where dodging, parrying, and weapon switching are key to taking down monsters and dungeon bosses,” the article notes. In the United States, the base version is priced at $39.99 on Steam, with a Deluxe Edition at about $44.99. Peak concurrent player counts have approached 13,000 on busy weekends, while the game is marked as playable on Steam Deck, though users report that performance on the handheld may require adjustments for smoother play.
