Tesla has added a new Model Y variant to its European lineup, aiming to address concerns over driving range in its lowest-priced version while maintaining a price below its premium offering.
The new Model Y Standard Long Range sits between the base Standard trim and the Premium rear-wheel-drive version, expanding Tesla’s global Model Y lineup. The company has recently broadened the range with additional variants, including a larger Model Y L in China and a Performance edition.

Despite its mid-tier positioning, the Standard Long Range delivers the longest driving range of any Model Y sold in Europe. As the original article observed, Tesla’s “golden middle is something else,” noting that the new trim is priced €7,000 higher than the base model and only €3,000 below the Premium RWD version.
The vehicle retains the same single-motor setup as the base Standard model, producing around 300 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 7.2 seconds. A larger battery increases the WLTP-rated range to 657 km (408 miles), compared with 534 km for the entry-level version, though Tesla has not indicated whether the trim will be offered in the United States.

In Germany, the base Model Y Standard starts at €40,970, while the Standard Long Range is priced at €47,970. For an additional €3,000, buyers can opt for the Premium RWD version, which offers faster acceleration and a broader set of features at the cost of a modest reduction in driving range.
