Ubisoft’s latest entry in the long-running Might & Magic franchise, Might & Magic Fates – Heroes TCG, has debuted in early access on Steam but received a mixed reception from players. The free-to-play strategy card game was released on Feb. 16, 2026, and has climbed into the platform’s top five “New & Trending” titles.
Despite its visibility, user feedback has been divided. Of more than 400 reviews posted so far, about 58% are positive, giving the game an overall “Mixed” rating on Steam. The lukewarm reception has largely centered on its monetization structure rather than its core gameplay mechanics.

On paper, the title builds on established elements of the Might & Magic universe. Players can command factions such as Inferno, Haven and Academy, level up heroes through an RPG-style progression system and construct decks from hundreds of collectible cards. Early reviews have highlighted the game’s distinct mana system and structured back-and-forth combat phases, with some noting that the hero-on-board mechanics add strategic depth beyond what promotional materials suggest.
However, many negative reviews cite concerns over low legendary card drop rates and slow acquisition of card packs. Players have also pointed to a progression loop that depends heavily on random booster packs, which may require extended grinding. The game includes an optional NFT-linked layer enabling certain cards to be traded externally, a feature some users say creates a perceived imbalance.
Even so, the game’s presence near the top of Steam’s trending list indicates strong initial interest, potentially aided by the recognition of the broader Might & Magic Heroes VII – Trial by Fire brand. As the original article notes, the title currently holds a “58% positive rating,” with criticism largely focused on its monetization model rather than its gameplay foundations.
