Unihertz has signaled a renewed push into physical-keyboard smartphones, unveiling a teaser for a new Android device called the Titan 2 Elite as manufacturers explore alternatives to fully touch-based designs.
The company released an image showing a compact handset with a four-row QWERTY keyboard positioned below the display, suggesting a focus on text-heavy use cases. Screen space appears reduced to accommodate the keyboard, while Android navigation keys are placed on either side of the spacebar, with a function key used for numbers and special characters.

The Titan 2 Elite is expected to refine the design language of earlier Unihertz keyboard phones. Compared with the Titan 2, the new model appears slimmer, featuring rounded corners on both the chassis and display and removing the thick upper bezel seen on previous versions. The front-facing camera is housed in a punch-hole cutout, indicating a more contemporary layout.
Unihertz has not disclosed specifications, pricing or a launch date, though it has opened a mailing list for updates. In its teaser description, the company described the device as “a relatively small smartphone, with the screen size reduced in favor of the keyboard,” highlighting its positioning toward users who prioritize physical input over large displays.

The announcement comes as interest resurfaces in smartphones with tactile keyboards, once popularized by BlackBerry. While such devices remain a niche segment, Unihertz is no longer the only company attempting to address demand from users who favor faster, more precise typing.
Further details on the Titan 2 Elite are expected in the coming weeks as Unihertz prepares to formally introduce the device to the market.
