A new electric vehicle called the TwoZero has been launched via a crowdfunding campaign, positioning itself as a potential alternative to cars for short urban trips. The four-wheeled electric vehicle is being offered to early backers on Kickstarter for about $8,000, with deliveries dependent on the project’s successful completion.
The company behind the TwoZero says the vehicle is designed to fall under electric bicycle regulations in many countries, meaning it may not require registration, insurance or a driver’s license in some jurisdictions. Its top speed is limited, reaching “up to about 15 mph” only when the rider is actively pedaling, aligning it with typical e-bike legal thresholds.

Power output is rated at 250 watts, while the removable battery has a capacity of 866 watt-hours. Under ideal conditions, the manufacturer estimates a maximum range of roughly 37 miles. The battery can be swapped quickly, a feature aimed at reducing downtime for daily commuting.
Unlike conventional bicycles, the TwoZero features four wheels and an enclosed design intended to offer protection from rain and cold weather. The vehicle weighs around 203 pounds and includes independent suspension on each wheel, which the company says should improve stability on uneven or slippery surfaces.
Additional features include rear cargo space that can accommodate luggage or a child seat, as well as support for attaching a bike trailer. While the concept is marketed as a practical city vehicle, the company cautions that crowdfunding carries risks, noting that backers could lose their investment if the project fails to reach production.
