Technology startup Vigx has introduced a new line of compact exoskeletons designed to assist walking, running and hiking, unveiling devices that can fold down to roughly the size of an umbrella, according to product details released by the company.

The π6 lineup includes three variants — Base, Pro and Ultra — aimed at different performance needs. Vigx said the powered wearables are designed to reduce physical strain during outdoor movement, with assistance that can lower heart rate and reduce pressure on knee joints while improving endurance.

The Base model weighs about 1.9 kg and uses a 300-watt motor delivering up to 10 newton metres of torque. According to the company, its battery supports distances of up to 10 km at higher assistance levels or as much as 25 km with reduced torque output.

Higher-end Pro and Ultra versions add more powerful motors and sensor systems. The Pro model features a 500-watt motor producing up to 14 Nm of torque, while the Ultra version uses an 800-watt motor delivering up to 16 Nm, alongside a larger battery. Both models incorporate AI-powered cameras that adjust assistance based on terrain.

The sensor system is driven by an onboard AI processor that analyzes surface conditions and modifies power delivery in real time. Vigx said the system responds within 30 milliseconds and is designed to align assistance closer to the wearer’s center of gravity to improve stability. “The wearables reduce the effort needed to walk, run, and hike while moving outdoors,” the company said in its product announcement.

Vigx said the π6 exoskeletons are scheduled to launch in June 2026, with pricing and availability details to be announced closer to release.
