WhatsApp is developing a feature that would allow users to schedule messages to be sent at a specific date and time, according to a report by WABetaInfo. The messaging platform, owned by Meta Platforms, has not officially announced the tool, and it is not yet available to beta testers.

WABetaInfo said it identified references to the feature in the latest WhatsApp 26.7.10.72 Beta for iOS build. The report indicated that the capability remains under development and could be included in a future release. “WhatsApp is currently developing a feature which will allow users to schedule messages to be sent at a specific time and date,” WABetaInfo said.

Message scheduling has long been requested by users, who currently must rely on workarounds. On Android devices, scheduling typically requires third-party applications, which can pose privacy and security concerns. On iOS, users can create automations through the Shortcuts app, though this method involves multiple steps and is not integrated directly into WhatsApp.

A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo suggests the feature would add a dedicated section within chat settings to manage scheduled messages. While the preview shows the function within a group chat, the report noted there is no indication that it would be limited to group conversations.

If introduced, the feature is expected to roll out to both iOS and Android platforms, though no timeline has been confirmed. Meta has not publicly commented on the development.
