Xiaomi Watch 2 Render Reveals Sleek Design and Key Features

Tech enthusiasts are abuzz with anticipation as Xiaomi gears up to unveil its latest wearable device, the Xiaomi Watch 2. Following the launch of the Watch 2 Pro in September last year, the Chinese tech giant is reportedly shifting gears with the new smartwatch, opting to drop the ‘Pro’ suffix in favor of a simpler moniker.

Fresh insights into the upcoming Xiaomi Watch 2 have emerged, courtesy of reputable publication Winfuture, shedding light on key features and design elements of the eagerly awaited wearable.

According to reports, the Xiaomi Watch 2 is poised to retain much of the design language seen in its predecessor, the Watch 2 Pro. Notably, the main departure lies in the absence of a functioning crown on the right side, distinguishing it from its Pro variant. Sporting a familiar 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display boasting a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and an always-on mode, the smartwatch maintains its sleek aesthetic. Furthermore, with a robust 5ATM water-resistant rating, the device promises durability and versatility for users on the move.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Watch 2 is rumored to pack the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 quad-core chipset, mirroring the powertrain of its Pro counterpart. This setup is expected to offer commendable battery life, with estimates suggesting up to 65 hours of usage. Running on Google’s wearOS platform, the device is anticipated to come pre-loaded with essential apps such as Google Wallet, Google Maps, and the Play Store. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi, NFC, GPS, and GNSS, catering to users’ diverse needs. Notably, there will be no LTE-compatible variant of the device available.

In line with Xiaomi’s commitment to health and fitness tracking, the Watch 2 will boast an impressive array of features. With support for 150 sports modes and an array of sensors including a sleep monitor, SpO2 sensor, heart-rate monitor, and step counter, the device aims to provide comprehensive health insights to users.

Retail listings suggest that the Xiaomi Watch 2 is already garnering attention, with prices ranging from EUR 199 to EUR 219 across various markets. As the official launch date approaches, enthusiasts eagerly await further details and a hands-on experience with Xiaomi’s latest wearable offering.
