The Suunto Race 2 smartwatch, designed for performance-driven athletes, is expected to reach the market in early September following a brief online listing that revealed its specifications and pricing. The device appeared on Amazon Spain before being quickly removed, but not before key details were shared by tech outlets.

Visually, the new watch remains close to its predecessor, with only subtle design adjustments such as a reworked bezel texture and a modified digital crown. The case diameter holds steady at 49 millimeters, though the casing has been made slimmer at 12.5 millimeters compared with the previous 13.3. Buyers will be able to choose between a composite version weighing 65 grams, a stainless-steel model at 76 grams, or a lighter titanium option. Suunto has also updated the rear sensor array and introduced a redesigned charger.

The Race 2 retains its round AMOLED display and introduces multi-band GPS support for more accurate distance tracking. Powered by the Ambiq Apollo 510 processor, the smartwatch offers up to 50 hours of battery life with continuous GPS use. In standard smartwatch mode, the device lasts up to 12 days, slightly less than the earlier model’s 16-day performance, likely due to the increased processing power.

For athletes, the device supports 115 sport modes, covering a wide range of activities including swimming, cycling and skiing. When paired with the Suunto Wing headphones, it can deliver real-time voice feedback during training sessions. Pricing details indicate the titanium version will retail for €599, positioning the watch at the higher end of Suunto’s lineup.

Suunto has not yet issued an official announcement regarding the listing, but the timing aligns with expectations of a September launch. The Suunto Race 2 is expected to compete with premium models from rivals such as Garmin, Polar and Apple as the company looks to strengthen its presence in the performance smartwatch segment.
