Third-party electronics importers have begun selling Samsung’s first tri-foldable smartphone globally, offering the Galaxy Z TriFold at prices exceeding $4,000 ahead of a broader international release.

Samsung this week launched the device in China, pricing the Galaxy Z TriFold at 19,999 yuan for a 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage model, rising to 24,999 yuan for a 1 TB version. The handset builds on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and features a 10-inch foldable display, a 5,600 mAh battery and built-in Samsung DeX support, positioning it as a premium productivity-focused device.

While Samsung has indicated that limited stock will later reach markets such as South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and the United States, it has not announced a specific U.S. release date. In the interim, importers including Average Dad Tech and Trinity Electronics have begun offering the device internationally, targeting early adopters willing to pay a premium.

Prices from these sellers are significantly higher than Samsung’s official pricing in China. Trinity Electronics lists the device at about $4,367 before discounts and shipping, while Average Dad Tech has warned customers that “there could be a long lead time on orders,” according to its product listing.

The higher prices reflect limited supply and the costs associated with grey-market imports, analysts say, and could ease as Samsung expands official availability. For now, the Galaxy Z TriFold remains a niche offering, underscoring both the high cost and logistical challenges of bringing cutting-edge foldable hardware to global markets.
