Huawei has unveiled a refreshed version of its MatePad 11.5 S tablet, adding more memory and faster charging as it looks to strengthen its position in the mid-range tablet market and compete with Apple’s latest iPad models.
The MatePad 11.5 S 2026 remains largely unchanged in design and hardware compared with its predecessor but introduces two notable upgrades. Huawei has increased the device’s memory from 8 GB to 12 GB and improved charging speeds for its 8,800 mAh battery to 40 watts, up from 22.5 watts previously.

“Huawei is relaunching the MatePad 11.5 S,” the article said, describing the update as a modest refresh rather than a full redesign. The tablet retains its 11.5-inch IPS display with a 2,800 x 1,840 resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 500 nits.
The aluminum-bodied tablet measures 6.1 millimeters thick and weighs 515 grams. It features quad speakers aimed at multimedia use, alongside support for the Huawei M-Pencil Pro and an optional keyboard cover for productivity tasks. Camera hardware includes an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera, while connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Huawei NearLink and USB-C 3.0.
