Huawei has begun rolling out a new software update for its Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro smartwatches, introducing additional fitness and health monitoring tools alongside performance improvements. The update, identified as version 6.0.0.173, follows the European launch of the devices in September 2025.
According to the release notes, the update adds a real-time virtual cadence feature aimed at outdoor cyclists. The metric estimates cadence based on pedalling pace, expanding the watches’ existing sports tracking capabilities. Huawei has also enhanced its high-altitude monitoring, using data such as heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) to trigger alerts for potential altitude adaptation issues.

Connectivity with third-party wireless earbuds has also been refined, the changelog shows. In addition, Huawei said overall system stability has been improved in “certain situations,” without elaborating on the scenarios affected.
