Abxylute has introduced a new controller designed for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 that adopts the distinctive button layout of the GameCube, marking a departure from the standard control scheme used on Nintendo’s latest hardware.
The controller, called the Abxylute N9C, is the company’s third announced accessory for the Switch 2, following the previously revealed N6 and N9 models. Like the earlier designs, the N9C replaces the Switch 2’s Joy-Con controllers with a single deck-style unit, but features the familiar asymmetrical button arrangement and color scheme associated with Nintendo’s GameCube era.

Abxylute said the N9C connects to the Switch 2 via USB-C and includes capacitive joysticks, mechanical micro-switch triggers and buttons, and a dedicated C button intended for voice chat. Additional features include a nine-axis gyroscope, programmable macros, button mapping options, turbo mode, and adjustable vibration levels.
Despite unveiling multiple controllers in recent months, Abxylute has yet to release any of the products commercially. According to company founder Donald Zhang, the accessories are nearing a public debut, with plans to seek crowdfunding support. He said the products are intended to appeal to players seeking alternative control layouts inspired by earlier Nintendo consoles.

The company plans to launch the controllers on Kickstarter on February 17, though it remains unclear whether all announced models, including the N9 with an integrated kickstand and display output support, will be included in the initial campaign.
