Sony Interactive Entertainment said it will air a new State of Play broadcast this Thursday, offering more than an hour of announcements, gameplay updates and news from game developers around the world, as the company continues to outline its upcoming PlayStation 5 lineup.

The February edition of State of Play will highlight third-party and independent games coming to the PS5, alongside updates from teams at PlayStation Studios, Sony said in a statement. The broadcast is scheduled to run for more than 60 minutes and will be streamed live.

“February’s State of Play will spotlight eye-catching third-party and indie games headed to PS5, along with the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios,” the company said.

Sony also cautioned viewers and content creators about potential copyright issues tied to the broadcast. The presentation may include licensed music that PlayStation does not directly control, which could affect co-streaming and the availability of video-on-demand replays.

“We welcome and celebrate our amazing co-streamers and creators, but licensing agreements outside our control could interfere with co-streams or VOD archives of this broadcast,” Sony said, advising creators who plan to save or repost footage to omit any copyrighted music.

State of Play events are part of Sony’s regular communications strategy to showcase upcoming games and updates, particularly as competition among console makers intensifies and players look for clearer signals on release pipelines for the year ahead.
