Chinese automaker BYD has introduced the Atto 3 Evo, a significantly updated version of its compact electric SUV, featuring faster charging capability and improved driving range. The model retains the same exterior dimensions as the 2023 version but incorporates major technical upgrades.
The Atto 3 Evo adopts an 800-volt electrical architecture, allowing charging speeds of up to 220 kW. According to the company, charging from 10% to 80% can be completed in 25 minutes. By comparison, the earlier 2023 model supported a maximum charging rate of 88 kW.

Battery capacity has also been increased. While BYD continues to use a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery rather than a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) pack, capacity rises to 74.8 kWh from 60 kWh in the previous version. The automaker employs its Cell-to-Body technology to integrate the battery into the vehicle structure.
The updated SUV is now offered with new drivetrain configurations. The base “Design” variant features rear-wheel drive with 230 kW of power and 280 lb-ft of torque. An all-wheel-drive “Excellence” trim combines front and rear motors to deliver a combined 330 kW and 413 lb-ft of torque.

In Europe, the Atto 3 Evo starts at €44,990 for the rear-wheel-drive model, while the all-wheel-drive Excellence variant is priced at €50,990. Both versions are available to order, with initial deliveries expected in the spring.
