Microsoft (MSFT.O) has confirmed that Persona 3 Reload, Farming Simulator 22, and Anthem will be removed from all tiers of Xbox Game Pass on August 15, narrowing options for subscribers who previously had access to these games as part of their subscription.
The departure of Persona 3 Reload, a widely praised remake of the 2006 Japanese role-playing game, may disappoint fans of the genre. The updated version modernized combat mechanics and visuals while maintaining the original’s narrative structure. “Most gamers find that it modernizes the original while preserving a compelling narrative,” according to the original announcement.
The timing of its removal appears to align with the game’s upcoming release on Nintendo’s Switch 2, scheduled for October 23. As of mid-August, there will be no Persona titles remaining on Xbox Game Pass.
Farming Simulator 22 will also exit the platform, making room for its sequel Farming Simulator 25, which joined Game Pass on August 1. While the new installment includes enhancements like ground deformation and improved AI, players cannot transfer progress from the previous title, and mod compatibility may vary.
Anthem, BioWare’s online multiplayer action-RPG, is the third title leaving the subscription. Its removal precedes the planned server shutdown in January 2026. The title struggled to gain traction due to technical issues and limited content following its 2019 launch.
Users still interested in these games can purchase them at a discounted price before their removal. Meanwhile, Microsoft plans to add new titles including Grounded 2 and Mafia: The Old Country on August 8, aiming to retain player engagement through upcoming releases.
