Garmin may be preparing a new addition to its aviation-focused smartwatch lineup, according to online reports, shortly after the company unveiled four new models globally, including the Venu 4 and Bounce 2.
The D2 Air series, designed with aviation features such as a worldwide airport database and flight plan transfers from the Garmin Pilot app, last saw an update over three years ago with the D2 Air X10, based on the Venu 2 Plus. Garmin did not release a follow-up tied to the Venu 3, but reports suggest the series could now jump directly to the Venu 4 platform.
According to Garmin Rumors, the next model is expected to be called the D2 Air X15. The device is anticipated to keep existing flight-focused tools while incorporating upgrades introduced between the Venu 3 and Venu 4.
While an official launch date has not been confirmed, industry speculation points to a release this autumn. Garmin Rumors noted that “the D2 Air X15 will arrive this autumn” though no supporting documentation has surfaced.
The D2 Air X15 would arrive as Garmin continues to expand its smartwatch lineup. Alongside the Venu 4, the company recently released the Instinct Crossover AMOLED, its Tactical Edition variant, and the Bounce 2, broadening its offerings in both lifestyle and specialized segments.
It also remains unclear when Garmin will unveil the D2 Mach 2, another aviation-focused model hinted at earlier this year, leaving the company’s product roadmap for pilots closely watched by industry observers.
