Costco has stopped selling Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in the United States and the United Kingdom, removing the products from both physical stores and online listings.
The change became evident in September when customers noticed Xbox consoles were no longer available at the retailer. Archived web pages show the Xbox Series X was listed on Costco’s U.K. site as recently as June. Confirmation from customer service and store staff indicates that the retailer no longer plans to stock Xbox hardware, describing the move as a business decision.
Just called Costco about Xbox stock. I was told that they will no longer be carrying Xbox consoles. “We don’t have any plans going forward to carry an Xbox console.” Saying. It was a business decision.
They did say they have some great deals on Switch & PlayStation, though.

The withdrawal comes at a difficult moment for Microsoft’s console business. Xbox Series X and Series S sales have fallen by about 30% compared with May 2024, while PlayStation 5 sales have gained 3% during the same period.
The shift does not appear to extend to Costco Canada, where Xbox consoles are still listed but currently out of stock. PlayStation and Nintendo Switch models remain available across Costco’s North American and U.K. outlets.
Analysts suggest the timing may be linked to Microsoft’s expected Xbox price increases, with Costco possibly choosing to step back from a product line already struggling to maintain sales momentum.
