Garmin has introduced the D2 Air X15, a new mid-range smartwatch aimed at aviation enthusiasts and professionals. The device succeeds the D2 Air X10 and incorporates hardware and software enhancements inspired by the recently launched Garmin Venu 4.
The D2 Air X15 features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels and up to 10 days of battery life. Built within a 45 mm case, it combines stainless steel and fiber-reinforced polymer for durability while maintaining a lightweight design of 56 grams. It also supports interchangeable 22 mm Quick Release bands and includes a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 cover for added protection.
Designed to serve pilots and frequent flyers, the smartwatch integrates the Garmin Pilot app, providing access to flight data, navigation tools, and aviation weather reports. The device also includes an LED flashlight and voice command capability, along with Garmin’s Messenger app for seamless communication — features that extend beyond the standard functionality of the Venu 4 series.
According to Garmin, the D2 Air X15 marks a generational leap over the D2 Air X10, which was based on the Venu 2 Plus platform. The new model skips the Venu 3 architecture entirely, aligning directly with the Venu 4’s upgraded performance and interface. “The D2 Air X15 continues Garmin’s commitment to innovation for aviation users, blending smart technology with flight-ready functionality,” the company said in its announcement.
Available in Slate and Silver finishes with a black silicone band, the D2 Air X15 is priced at $649.99 and can be purchased through Garmin’s official website and authorized retailers.
