Garmin has released a new beta update for its premium Venu X1 smartwatch, introducing several new features and performance improvements ahead of an expected stable rollout.
The update, identified as Beta Version 15.10, continues the company’s month-long v15.xx beta development, which began with Beta 15.05 at the end of September. Garmin’s Venu X1, currently priced at around $759 on Amazon, last received a stable firmware update six weeks ago addressing a Wi-Fi download issue.
For now, Garmin has made the Beta 15.10 update available only through manual installation. Users enrolled in the Beta Program can navigate to “Main Menu > Settings > System > Software Update” and select “Check for Updates” to initiate the process.
According to Garmin, the update adds three new watch faces and a new glance feature that “tracks health data changes and overall wellbeing.” Additionally, users can now power off the Venu X1 without entering a passcode — a small but notable convenience change.
Garmin also detailed several bug fixes, including issues that caused slow voice note playback, incorrect notification counts, and unexpected device reboots during calls or when receiving multiple notifications. The company said the patch “reduces click sound at the beginning of a voice note” and includes “various bug fixes and improvements.”
A Garmin spokesperson noted in the release notes that the improvements are “part of our continued effort to refine user experience on the Venu X1.” A stable public release incorporating these beta updates is expected in the coming weeks.
