CD Projekt Red has increased its development workforce as production ramps up on several long-term game projects, including the next instalments in the Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises. The studio added 50 developers in recent months, bringing the total headcount to 851, according to details shared during its third-quarter 2025 financial presentation.

The company distributed the bulk of its resources to the forthcoming Witcher sequel, currently employing 447 developers, while 135 are assigned to Cyberpunk 2. Additional staffing was allocated to secondary initiatives: 56 developers are attached to Project Sirius, which is expected to incorporate live-service features, and 29 are dedicated to Project Hadar, the studio’s original intellectual property.

The hiring surge appears linked to an effort to avoid future production delays. Fans have been highly anticipatory since The Witcher 4 was first announced at The Game Awards in 2024, though the title is not expected before 2027. Cyberpunk 2 remains further out, with projections placing its launch around 2030 or 2031 due to its scale. The studio openly referenced the growth of the project, citing an estimated need for “between 350 and 500 developers” to reach full production—a figure highlighted in the original announcement.

CD Projekt Red has not disclosed gameplay details or launch timelines beyond high-level expectations, but industry analysts view the staffing expansion as a sign of accelerating development. Both major releases are positioned to serve as long-term pillars of the company’s portfolio through the next decade, alongside its smaller projects under incubation.

The studio is expected to provide its next development update at future earnings briefings, though it has not specified when more information will be released to the public.
