According to the listing, tasks include to “design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient network architectures for online features” as well as to “develop and optimize multiplayer systems, including matchmaking, and address challenges related to latency, bandwidth usage, and server performance.”
The sequel is expected to bring back Night City while introducing an additional setting inspired by a dystopian version of Chicago. However, CDPR has not confirmed how online components will be integrated, leaving the extent of multiplayer functionality uncertain.
No release date has been set for Cyberpunk 2. The project is still in early stages, and its launch is likely several years away, with fans hoping for a smoother debut than the troubled rollout of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020.
