Sony has officially announced their Walkman Signature series for the Asian market. The Sony NW-WM1ZM2 and Sony NW-WM1AM2 are two models in this series and they offer a gold-plated chassis and S-Master digital amplifier technology.
Sony NW-WM1ZM2 and Sony NW-WM1AM2 are both claimed to offer a high-resolution audio listening experience. Both digital music players come with a compact 5-inch screen with HD resolution.
Reporting from Gizmochina (10/2), there is Wi-Fi connectivity that allows devices to connect to the Internet and play and download music from an endless catalog. Both Walkman models use S-Master HX digital technology, which is Sony’s in-house technology from the Walkman brand. There is a full digital amplifier inside the Walkman that offers detailed sound.
The NW-WM1ZM2 comes in a 99.99% purity 4N gold-plated chassis made of oxygen-free copper (OFC). On the other hand, the NW-WM1AM2 is made of an aluminum alloy frame which offers rigidity and a boxy feel in the hand.
Both of these Walkman devices run on the Android 11 operating system and have a traditional Walkman home screen setup. The device offers up to 40 hours of FLAC 96 kHz high-resolution audio playback.
This music player has an audio jack and a USB Type-C port. The NW-M1AM2 has 128GB of storage, while the NW-WM1ZM2 comes with 256GB of storage. There’s also microSD card support on both. Unfortunately there is no information regarding the price.
