SwitchBot has introduced the Keypad Vision Pro, a new smart keypad designed to expand how users unlock compatible smart locks, adding facial recognition and other biometric methods alongside traditional access options.
The device, which works with the company’s SwitchBot Lock Pro rather than operating as a standalone lock, supports several unlocking methods, including 3D facial recognition, palm vein scanning, fingerprint recognition, passcodes, NFC cards and app-based access. According to the product description, “this isn’t simply a visual comparison, as the SwitchBot Keypad Vision Pro creates a three-dimensional scan,” a feature intended to reduce the risk of being fooled by photographs.

SwitchBot positions facial recognition as a hands-free option, particularly useful when users are carrying items. The keypad can also store palm vein profiles for up to 100 users, a capacity that may make it suitable for small commercial settings such as offices or rental properties.
The Keypad Vision Pro is powered by a lithium battery rated for up to one year of use, with an optional fixed power supply available. The keypad itself does not include a locking mechanism and requires a compatible SwitchBot smart lock to function.

Pricing varies by region. The device is currently being sold at a discounted price of $104 in the United States, down from a recommended retail price of $130. In the UK, it is priced at £170 with a £30 discount. In Europe, the keypad remains in the pre-order phase at €170, also with a €30 reduction, with shipments expected to begin in mid-February.
