Huawei said it will introduce the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 later this month as part of a broader product showcase scheduled for Feb. 26. The company indicated the smartwatch will be released globally, alongside devices including the Band 11 Pro, FreeBuds Pro 5, Mate 80 Pro and the MatePad Mini tablet.
The Watch GT Runner 2 is positioned as a successor to the original Watch GT Runner, arriving roughly five years after its predecessor. Promotional materials shared by Huawei suggest the new model is aimed at serious runners and could compete with devices such as the Garmin Fenix 8 and the Garmin Forerunner 970.

In teaser content released online, Huawei said the Watch GT Runner 2 will feature an “intelligent marathon mode.” The company described it as a training-focused tool designed to help users prepare more effectively for long-distance races.
The smartwatch is also expected to incorporate Huawei’s TruSense system, which is available on several of its recent wearables and can measure more than 60 health and fitness indicators. In addition, the device will use the company’s Sunflower positioning system to enhance route tracking and location accuracy during activities.
Huawei has confirmed that the Watch GT Runner 2 will be sold internationally, though pricing details have not yet been disclosed. Further information is expected during the company’s February launch event.
