Garmin is back in the fitness bracelet market. The latest product is the Vivosmart 5. This fitness bracelet will replace the Vivosmart 4 which was launched in 2018.
The difference of four years with Vivosmart 4, unfortunately, there are not many updates brought by Vivosmart 5. In the design sector, the two still look similar. The difference is, Vivosmart 5 now carries a modular style. The main module can now be removed from the strap.
So, users are allowed to change the strap according to taste. Another difference, the Vivosmart 5 OLED screen is 66% larger than the Vivosmart 4.
As a fitness bracelet the Vivosmart 5 carries the same set of fitness monitoring features as other Garmin devices. Such as features such as tracking sleep patterns, exercise modes, counting steps, body energy monitoring, stress monitoring, heart rate monitoring sensors and oxygen saturation. One feature that is absent, such as the Vivosmart 4 on the Vivosmart 5 is not yet available with the GPS feature. For location tracking capabilities Vivosmart 5 relies on the GPS feature on the phone.
Garmin Vivosmart 5 is compatible with Android and iOS phones. When connected users can get notifications and reminders that go to the phone. For battery life, it is quite durable. Garmin Vivosmart 5 can be used up to about 7 days for a single battery charge.
The Garmin Vivosmart 5 is now available. Garmin Vivosmart 5 Price US$149
