BOE to supply OLED screen for Apple iPhone 14

BOE has reportedly signed a deal with for the production of the . The deal is reportedly worth 50 million yuan and will see BOE produce up to a quarter of the OLED screens for the 14.

This Chinese company will provide a 6.1-inch screen panel that will only be present on the ‘regular’ iPhone 14 model. The higher model of the upcoming iPhone 14 series is said to not sport a BOE display. These higher models (iPhone 14 Pro, Max, and so on) will still use OLED screens from LG and .

Reporting from Gizmochina (22/4), the new business is a boon for BOE which is entering the realm of iPhone production today for the first time. But BOE already has a functional partnership with Apple as a supplier of backup screens for older iPhones.

BOE is also reported to have made inroads into iPad and MacBook production with reports that it will supply OLED panels for the next generation of iPads and MacBooks. The new partnership between Apple and BOE will see BOE expand its Sichuan plant to meet demand, as well as equip it with the necessary manpower requirements.

BOE is supported by very strong performance in the development and production of OLED panels in the past year. BOE had a 60% increase in OLED production last year to strengthen its leading position in the market.
