Anbernic has officially confirmed its latest handheld console, the RG DS, a dual-screen device that will launch for under $100. The announcement follows speculation sparked by a leaked video last month that some had questioned as AI-generated.
The company released a new video showing the RG DS in blue, white, and transparent versions. The handheld features two screens, dual joysticks, a directional pad, and standard action buttons, reminiscent of classic portable gaming systems.
While full specifications remain undisclosed, the design suggests a compact device aimed at retro gaming fans. Technical details, including the processor and display specifications, are expected to be revealed closer to launch.
In the announcement, Anbernic confirmed the device’s price target but did not provide an exact release date. “Anbernic states that the model will be launched for under $100,” the company said in its promotional material.
The RG DS is expected to debut in the coming weeks, extending Anbernic’s lineup of affordable handheld consoles designed for classic and emulated gaming experiences.
