Apple launched its iPhone 13 lineup in September, and the iPhone 14 is still a few months away from launch, but rumors surrounding the iPhone 15 have already started circulating the internet.
In the latest rumors circulating claim Apple will ditch the physical SIM card slot starting with the iPhone 15 series in 2023.
This information comes from the Brazilian Blog publication do iPhone, which says that the Pro 2023 model (temporarily called the iPhone 15 Pro) will not have a physical SIM card slot and will rely entirely on eSIM technology for connectivity.

The source also claims that this iPhone will come with dual eSIM support, allowing users to have two lines simultaneously. However, it is unclear whether the non-Pro models will also rely entirely on eSIM technology or continue to use the physical SIM card slot.
Apple’s plan to ditch the SIM card slot shouldn’t come as a surprise as the tech giant is said to have finally moved to a portless iPhone, and removing the SIM card slot seems like the first step in that direction.
However, even if Apple launches an iPhone without a SIM card slot, we could still see it offering a version with a physical SIM slot in countries where eSIM service is not available.
